Reimagining cancer research with art

Our approach uses cancer biology itself as a visual language. We transform microscopy, histology, cellular patterns, and other research-derived images into artworks that preserve their scientific origins while making them legible in a different cultural context.

The goal is not simply to illustrate cancer, but to use art as a framework for communication: to make complex biology more accessible, create space for conversations about disease and disparities, and connect scientific research with patients, advocates, artists, and broader public audiences.

In our Nature Reviews Cancer article, we discuss how these projects can support public engagement while also prompting new ways of thinking about how cancer is represented, understood, and communicated.
